                                                                 HISTORY OF IRISAN
         The story of Irisan were told by Virgina Luna.She married an Ibaloi Felix Luna.Aside from Luna, other original families of Irisan are Oseo,Palgi ,Gabol,Pucay and others.

         Irisan comes from the Ibaloi term idisan meaning a wood used to grind something to make it fine.Irisan is also said a forested pine trees before. years pass by and the titling of lands in Irisan started.Eventualy,these titled lands are sold to the  people from manila,including a reality company that converted and develop the land into subdivitions.This started the influx of thousands of settlers and squaters in Irisan.they started to improve the the land and construct houses,some of them later on sold the land to the third parties ,even without the benefit of legal titles.the number of houses in Irisan increased rapidly.This promted the Baguio City government to cunduct a demolition.All these developments brough negative changes to Irisan.before were thick pine forest,gardens,pasture lands and a few scatered houses are now converted to mountain filled with houses and structures.

        Together with the development the population also increases.Ibalois became the minority settlers and the people from other provinces of cordillera,manila and other lowland provinces become the majority settlers.
